I have banked with this credit union since 1989, back when it was Rohm & Haas FCU. Then, and when it converted to Monument Area FCU, you could not ask for better service.

Every person there knew me by name when I walked in the door, which wasn't very often. I could call the loan officers and actually be pre-approved over the phone. Since they changed to JSC it has been complete and utter disappointment. There is zero interest in whether they keep you as a customer or not.

I go out of the country at least once a year. I've had to turn in a travel form multiple times each and every time. The ONLY thing I can say they've done right is that Fraud Protection actually calls me any time there is suspicious activity so it avoids the embarrassment of having my card declined. There is ZERO contact for after-hours so if your card has an issue, there is no way to contact them (except to report lost or stolen).

Their fees have steadily increased since the changeover and they even changed the time that your direct deposit hits your account (it used to be midnight but is now 9:00 am the following morning). That is important because the first time it occurred was on Black Friday! No notice, just the change. Every person and family member I know of has moved away from this credit union since the change to JSC.

I am the lone holdout...simply because I'm hoping someone else will buy them out in the very near future. Otherwise, I'll be moving on as well.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.
